I've taken on the task of learning to build my own website - secured a domain name, purchased a place through http://hostica.com a very good web hosting server with great pricing.
Actually I opted in for 9 sites - so here I am determine to take on this task to learn the ropes and build my first site, with 8 to go. I know by the time the first one is up and running, launching the others will take less time and go much smoother.
Right now, I've invested numerous hours to learn the meaning of the terms, icons, etc and it's coming along, but being a newbie it calls for patience. Of course I can pay someone to do it, but I really want to learn so I'm going to stick with it!
I spent about 5 hours on it today and feel more confident building it than I did yesterday, so that is encouraging. I'm done for today - time to spend the rest of the evening doing nothing as tomorrow is another busy work day...yeah, Sunday to boot, but I get paid...double time:-)
So, if you have a project that you would like to tackle, then go for it - who cares how long it take...the end result will be that you've learnt something new and can then help others.
