The Webster dictionary defines both words as to "have" money, things in abundance.
However, nothing was mentioned about relationships, peace, love, health etc. Interesting huh!
At this very moment I can't say that I've experienced the extreme of what it feels like to be rich - meaning, having enough money at my disposal to buy whatever, do whatever and go wherever, not yet anyways!
I have experienced periods of the "rich" feelings throughout my life, and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it. The greatest pleasure I have from those times were the ability to share my riches with family, friends, and charities. It gives me such joy to give and see or hear the delight in the voice and face when the receiver embraces the gift, and it wasn't even their birthday, anniversary etc.
I've also been fortunate to experience the feeling connected to being wealthy and I must say there is a difference.
When I hear the word "rich" I immediately connect it to things/money!
When I hear the word "wealth" I immediately connect it to virtues like contentment, peace, love, faith, relationships, living and money etc.
As I type these words, I am overjoyed to say that I am living a wealthy life - I'm blessed with amazing parents and sister, and my bond with them gets stronger as the days come and go. I know more about myself than I did a year ago, I love me, my life is a success, I am surrounded with friends who come in all colour, sizes, gender, and personalities. I have a relationship with a God who loves me for who I am. I live in a Country and City that is beautiful. I have more than enough to meet my financial needs, I am healthy, I am content and at peace as I work towards my personal best.
So, if I had to choose between temporary riches of material things, and life changing empowering virtues of wealth...without hesitating, I would choose wealth, because with wealth operating within, the riches without will eventually be manifest.
So let me ask as I wrap this up - what is your position in this rich wealthy world?
